LAKE POWELL PADDLEBOARDS AND KAYAKS

Greetings from Arizona! 🙂

LAKE POWELL PADDLEBOARDS AND KAYAKS

Situated on the west side of Page AZ, Lake Powell Paddleboards container structure spans approximately 960 square feet. They built their shop out of recycled shipping containers. As stated on their site, they personally drove to Long Beach CA and towed the containers one at a time the 550 miles to Page, AZ. Picking up the pallet wood in Phoenix and the barn wood in Denver, CO.

They completely constructed of three 40 foot shipping containers in March 2016. Each cube is a steel-framed structure that measures 320 square feet and has been cut and welded into a one-of-a-kind retail space so they will never end up in a landfill.

In addition to personally taking care of every detail of the build, everything is hand painted.  The interior of the shop is lined with recycled pallet wood and the outside is recycled barn wood from Colorado. The Arizona State flag is built into one of the walls.

It is impressive that they did 90% of the work ourselves, along with our tribe of friends who helped!

The best part is the YouTube video showing the entire process! It is a no frills look into what it really takes to get these containers, put them where you want, take them apart, and piece them back together. I would recommend watching it!

It took them 14 months to complete the structure. It is now one of the landmarks of Page, Arizona.

So what do you think? Would you visit here? 🙂
