Greetings from Australia! 🙂
This hillside shipping container home looks so scenic it may have come out of a book of Australian fairy tales. Located in Tasmania, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom, eco-friendly home features a rustic yet contemporary feel with an added perk — a bathtub that’s outside!
Located near gorgeous vineyards, the home sits on farm property, which includes pigs, sheep and chickens. Serene, relaxed and unique are just a few words that come to mind when you visit this amazing container home that feels so far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As you step into the home, you’ll be swept away by the funky, fun and eclectic decor, including recycled wood walls and shelves. A wood fire keeps evenings cozy and warm.
Plenty of seating space includes two chairs and a sofa, along with cool touches like a record player and tons of vintage albums. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide an awe-inspiring view of the mountainside, perfect for watching the sunset in the evening. Pendant lighting provides just the right amount of light at night. Built-in shelves hold interesting knickknacks and curiosities.
A fully loaded kitchen offers everything you need, including an oven, sink, refrigerator and appliances. Wood counter tops offer charm and plenty of space to prepare meals.
The bathroom/utilities room, set into a rock-lined alcove, is almost magical. Recycled wood and door frames give the room a shabby but exciting look. Crawl into a cozy sleeping nook and enjoy the view of a lifetime as you drift off to sleep. Built-in drawers provide storage, and the room can’t help but feel romantic and relaxing. The view from the bedroom is absolutely breathtaking!
The house has two decks, with panoramic views of the mountains and greenery. What’s it like to take a bath under the starry sky? Imagine how peaceful and fun! It’s a great way to end a day exploring Tasmania and its nearby shops, restaurants and, of course, vineyards!
So what do you think? Would you stay here for $290 AUD/ $223 USD? 🙂
